National Chocolate Chip Cookie Today

May 15th might be one of my favorite days of the year, not only is it one of my besties birthday’s (Happy Birthday, Mitch!) it is also national chocolate chip cookie day. And if you know me, you know I do not need a reason to make a batch of cookies. So when work celebrates by having a chocolate chip cookie bake-off…you obviously participate by making not one but TWO of your favorite chocolate chip recipes! And lucky you, because I’m here to share three of my favorite chocolate chip recipes with you!

1. KH Chocolate Chip Cookies

This chocolate chip cookie is literally what I was raised on and I cannot tell you how many times I have made this recipe over the years. It’s one of those that just reminds me of home and learning how to bake with my mom. It also has one of the BEST tasting cookie doughs and we all know how important that is! 😉 Depending on the type of butter, flour, etc. you use, it will change the shape and taste some, but no matter what they always turn out and you can easily switch the chocolate chips for M&M’s or Reese’s Pieces and they are still just as good! Another thing you can also do with this recipe is pour the entire batch of dough in a 9X13″ pan and bake for about 20-25 minutes…making a pan of cookie bars! (If you decide to try this, add a little almond flavoring. 🙂)

2. Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

If you haven’t heard of Sally’s Baking Addiction, you are missing out! She is hands down one of my favorite bakers to follow and EVERY recipe I have tried of hers always turns out. Her recipes are simple, easy to follow and include ingredients you will have on hand! Her Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe is a new recipe my mom and I recently discovered and tried and is now one we love to make. You do have to chill the dough with this one, so just know you can’t mix and bake right away. That does add in more planning time, but if you are one for a chewy cookie and love chocolate chunks…you will be so glad you tried this recipe! I made this one today and it was everyone’s FAVORITE. 🙂

3. Perfect CCC

This was the second recipe I made to share with my co-workers today and this recipe is from Take A Bite Blog. I have followed Annie and her blog for quite some time and know how much everyone LOVES her CCC recipe. So a couple of weeks ago, I finally gave it a try and followed her recipe exactly…and OH MY GOSH were they yummy! This is such a fun chocolate chip cookie that includes olive oil and a special touch of salt sprinkled on top.

So no matter what kind of chocolate chip cookie person you are, I promise you cannot go wrong with any of these three recipes above! Would love to know if you have a favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe!? I’m always down for trying a new recipe! 🙂
