Friday + S’more Lovin’
Nothing screams raspberry season like going back to Iowa and picking raspberries with your mom. A family friend has a large patch of raspberries and we were lucky enough to get to go pick and enjoy them while I was home. We picked SO many that there was plenty for me to bring back to North Carolina and enjoy/experiment with. So I figured, this was the perfect opportunity to try some new recipes. I asked you all on Instagram which you would prefer: a breakfast or dessert recipe and of course the results were SO close and after researching recipes, I knew there was NO WAY I could just make one. So I am kicking off the first raspberry recipe of the season with: Dark Chocolate Raspberry Pie Bars. I KNOW. The name says it all! I knew as soon as I saw this recipe, the simple ingredients and how quick and easy it would be to make these, they would be the dessert option I would try! Below you will find the ingredients, recipe and step by step instructions on how to make these.
Halloween is only a few days away, but don’t worry there is still time to make one of my favorite Halloween treats. If you’ve hung around my mom and I, we have probably introduced you to these Nutter Butter Ghost Cookies, you’ve learned how addictive they are and you may be one of the many, who asks us to make them year after year!
I probably don’t need to tell you this, but these are really delicious. Like really really freaking good. I always say, they are LITERALLY HEAVEN in a bite!
Hands down this is one of my FAVORITE childhood recipes and to this day I love making this, having friends over and sharing that feel-good meal with one another. Growing up as a kid we ate dinner as a family every night around the dinner table, typically with Home Improvement on in the background…anyone else?! Still to this day, when I eat breakfast, lunch or dinner, I will typically always still sit at my kitchen table to enjoy my meal. Over the years I have realized how this tradition has slowly been lost because lets face it families are busy and making meals to please everyone can be challenging and time consuming! I’m hoping that through my around-the-table dinner ideas, I will inspire you to make a meal for your family or to invite friends over to enjoy together. I believe that things don’t have to be fancy and as long as the the food is yummy and brings people together that is all that matters!
